Corporate Social Responsibility
The Exhibition and Congress Centre of Santander is firmly committed to developing a model of tourism that is inclusive, sustainable, and responsible, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
To promote sustainability and social cohesion among all event stakeholders, the Palace implements the following key actions:
Quality Education
Annual training and information provided to all workers on the quality policy, waste management, environment, and sustainability. The rules of use for external suppliers include sustainable aspects. Awareness messages regarding responsible consumption are displayed in all facilities.
Health and Well-being
50% of the cleaning products used have an ecological label. For catering services, menus with local and seasonal products are promoted, in addition to offering alternatives for people with intolerances or specific diets, favoring the use of BIO products.
Clean Water and Sanitation
Regular maintenance for incident detection. Use of manual timed taps in public restrooms and placement of awareness messages. Provision of hygienic containers and electric hand dryers to prevent improper use of toilets.
Decent Work and Economic Growth
Commitment to ensuring fair working conditions for the personnel of supplier companies linked to the venue.
Reduced Inequalities
Fully accessible building for people with reduced mobility, including an elevator and manual wheelchair service. The auditorium has a hearing aid loop. Availability of floor plans and signage in Braille code.
Sustainable Cities and Communities
Active participation in the plan promoted by the Municipal Tourism Company, aligned with the 2030 Agenda. The plan focuses on economic, social, and environmental sustainability, quality improvement, and the promotion of tourism excellence.
Responsible Consumption and Production
Installation of recycling points for internal use and event organizers (paper, cardboard, plastic, hazardous waste). Priority use of ECO/BIO, biodegradable, and compostable products. 100% of the lighting has been replaced with LED. Disconnection or "energy-saving" mode for equipment at the end of the workday. Daily use of recycled paper.
Climate Action
Easy accessibility via public transport. In the immediate vicinity, there is a public bicycle rental service and bicycle parking is available at the venue, promoting sustainable mobility.
