Accessible Space

Since its construction, the Palace has followed the "Design for All" strategy, creating an accessible environment and services regardless of age or functional abilities. The building is completely free of obstacles and architectural barriers.

We work in collaboration with the City Council of Santander and Tur4all in the continuous assessment of accessibility, and also collaborate with various associations to implement ongoing improvements.

Physical Accessibility and Circulation

Physical accessibility is guaranteed throughout the entire route:

  • Main Entrance: Level access with a door width greater than 78 cm.
  • Interior Circulation: The route, from the lobby to the halls, allows full wheelchair movement, thanks to accessible ramps and elevators.
  • Support Resources: Wheelchairs for loan and support staff are available for persons with reduced mobility (PRM). Benches are also available in the halls for rest.
  • Reception Desk: Near the entrance with height adapted for wheelchair users.

Sensory and Cognitive Accessibility

The Palace incorporates elements that facilitate orientation and comprehension:

  • Assistance Dogs: Guide and assistance dogs are allowed with proper documentation.
  • Elevator: Equipped with Braille buttons.
  • Signage: Clear signs with high-contrast text and large print.
  • Tactile Orientation: Information stand on the access floor with tactile map and Braille information.

Specific Services and Infrastructure

To ensure maximum comfort for all visitors, the Palace of Exhibitions has infrastructure and services designed to meet the needs of Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM).
